There are many ways of making pizza from scratch, and everyone has their own preferences about how pizza should be made. One way of making pizza that everyone is sure to enjoy is pizza made on the grill. Pizza
made on the grill is a way to make a more unusual but excellent tasting pizza. Whether you are making your crust from scratch or using a pre-made crust, pizza on the grill is an excellent way to make everyone their favorite dish.
You can use a gas grill or a charcoal grill to make your pizza. If you are using a gas grill, begin by turning the grill on to high heat and close the lid. Let the grill heat up for about fifteen minutes. If you make dough from scratch,
make sure the dough is stiff enough to not leak through the grill. Brush the grill and the dough with olive oil to keep dough from sticking to it. When your grill is hot and your crust is ready to go on, turn the heat down to medium
and place the crust on the grill. Close the lid and let it cook for a couple minutes, then flip it over and cook it on the other side.
As soon as the crust is cooked, keep on the grill and quickly brush tomato sauce, shredded cheese, and the desired toppings on it. The pizza is done when the cheese is melted. This ususally takes at least five minutes, but times can
vary from grill to grill. Be sure to pre-cook any meat toppings and any other toppings that you want cooked. The pizza will not be on the grill long enough to cook any toppings. You should also pre-cut all the toppings so you can quickly
get them on the pizza without allowing the crust to burn.
It is possible to cook pizza on a charcoal grill, but it is a little bit more difficult. A charcoal grills requires a close watch on the temperature to make sure your dough is cooking thoroughly and not burning. The coals in your grill
are ready when they are evenly covered in a gray ash. Other than keeping a closer watch on the temperature, making pizza on a charcoal grill is just like making it on a gas grill. If you want to make something new to impress your dinner
guests with, try a grilled pizza. |
