All-Purpose Pizza Dough

 

 

Pizza dough prepared from active dry yeast and warm water combined with all-purpose flour, sugar, salt and olive oil. Kneaded dough allowed to rise about an hour before ready for use.

Ingredients -
3/4 cup Warm Water (110° F)
1 envelope Active Dry Yeast
2 cups (or more) All-Purpose Flour
1 teaspoon Sugar
3/4 teaspoon Table Salt
3 tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
 
Preparation:

1. Add warm water to small bowl. Sprinkle yeast over water. Stir lightly.

2. Cover bowl loosely and let stand at room temperature about 5 minutes or per instructions.

3. Brush separate large bowl lightly with olive oil.

4. Add all-purpose flour, sugar, salt to food processor. Stir in yeast mixture and olive oil.

5. Process until dough forms a sticky ball.

6. Lightly flour a flat surface. Knead dough until smooth, about 1 minute. Add tiny bits of flour if necessary to prevent dough from sticking.

7. Transfer dough to prepared bowl.

8. Turn dough in bowl to coat with oil.

9. Cover bowl tightly with plastic wrap.

10. Allow dough to rise at room temperature about 1 hour. Dough should double in volume.

11. Punch down dough and use per recipe instructions.
