Homemade Pizza Sauce with Garlic and Crushed Red Pepper

 

 

Sautéed garlic combined with olive oil, crushed tomatoes, brown sugar, Italian seasoning, dried basil, kosher salt, and crushed red pepper flakes. Sauce is simmered over low heat to blend flavors and thicken.

Ingredients -

2 Garlic Cloves, Minced
1 tablespoons Olive Oil
1 (28 ounces) can Crushed Tomatoes
1 teaspoon Brown Sugar, Packed
1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
1/2 teaspoon Dried Basil
1/4 teaspoon Kosher Salt
1/4 teaspoon Crushed Red Pepper Flakes

 
Preparation:

1. Sauté the garlic in oil in a small saucepan until tender.

2. Add the remaining ingredients and stir well.

3. Bring the mixture to a boil.

4. Lower the heat and cook for 30 minutes or until the sauce thickens, uncovered.

5. Sauce will keep up to 1 week in the refrigerator.
