Homemade Pizza Sauce with Tomatoes and Garlic

 

 

Pizza sauce prepared from crushed tomatoes in heavy puree, pure olive oil, chopped onion, chopped fresh garlic, Italian seasoning, coarse-grained salt, and fresh ground black pepper.

Ingredients -

1 (28 ounces) can Crushed Tomatoes in Heavy Puree
1/4 cup Pure Olive Oil
2 tablespoons Chopped White or Yellow Onion
1 teaspoon Chopped Fresh Garlic
1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
1 teaspoon Coarse-Grained Salt
1/2 teaspoon Fresh Ground Black Pepper

 
Preparation:

1. Add the oil to a saucepan and heat until hot but not smoking.

2. Add the onion and cook until softened and beginning to brown.

3. Add the garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.

4. Add the seasonings and tomatoes and stir well.

5. Reduce heat and allow to simmer for 15 minutes, constantly stirring.
