Meat Lovers Deep Dish Pizza

 

 

Fresh pizza dough rolled out and pressed in to pizza pan. Mixture of sautéed ground beef, sautéed Italian pork sausage, shredded mozzarella cheese, thinly sliced bell pepper, and marinara sauce layered over pizza dough. Pizza baked in hot oven 15 minutes. Pizza sprinkled with more mozzarella and grated fresh Parmesan cheese. Pizza returned to oven to finish baking.

Ingredients -

1 tablespoon Vegetable Oil
1/2 pound Ground Beef
1/2 pound Sweet OR Hot Italian Pork Sausage
1/2 teaspoon Dried Italian Seasoning
1 pound Pizza Dough, Room Temp
2 cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
1/2 Green Bell Pepper, Seeded, Thinly Sliced
1 cup Marinara Sauce
2 tablespoons Grated Parmesan Cheese

 
Preparation:

1. Turn the oven to 450 degrees and preheat.

2. Coat a deep dish pizza pan with vegetable oil.

3. Add the oil to a skillet with the crumbled beef and sausage.

4. Add the Italian seasoning and stir to blend.

5. Cook until the meat is no longer pink, which takes about 5 minutes.

6. Set aside.

7. Roll the dough out onto a floured surface and form into a circle that is slightly large around than the pan.

8. Place the dough in the pan and press out the excess dough to the sides.

9. Layer the meat mixture, 1-1/2 cups of mozzarella cheese, bell pepper and sauce on top of the dough.

10. Bake for 15 minutes.

11. Top with the remaining cheeses and bake for another 15 minutes.

12. Remove the pizza from the oven and allow to cool slightly.

13. Slice and serve.
