Mozzarella and Tomato Pizza with Green Chilies

 

 

Homemade pizza dough rolled out into large circle. Dough edges topped with fresh mozzarella cheese and rolled into seal cheese and create stuffed crust. Pizza topped with tomato sauce, chopped fresh parsley, crushed garlic, coarse grained salt, fresh ground black pepper, thinly slice tomato, thinly sliced pepperoni, and canned green chilies. Pizza baked in hot oven until edges are golden and crisp and sauce is hot and bubbly.

Ingredients -

3 cups White Flour
1 teaspoon Table Salt
1 package Instant Yeast
2 tablespoons Extra-Virgin Olive Oil
1 cup Warm Water

Topping and Crust:
5 ounces Fresh Mozzarella Balls, drained
2 tablespoons Chopped Fresh Parsley
1 Garlic Clove, crushed
Coarse-Grained Salt
Fresh Ground Black Pepper
1/2 cup Tomato Sauce
2 Tomatoes, thinly sliced
1/4 pound Thinly Sliced Pepperoni
4 Canned Green Chilies, sliced

 
Preparation:

1. Add the yeast, salt and flour in a mixer with a dough hook.

2. Run the motor, add the oil and warm water and mix until it forms a soft dough.

3. Lightly oil a bowl and place the dough inside.

4. Cover with a dish cloth and let rise until it has doubled in size.

5. Chop the mozzarella and combine with the parsley, garlic and seasoning.

6. Turn the oven to 450 degrees and preheat.

7. Flour a work surface and roll out the dough into a 16 inch circle.

8. Arrange the mozzarella cheese around the edges, leaving a 1-inch edge.

9. Pull the outer edges over the cheese, dampen the edge and press down firmly to seal.

10. Move the pizza onto a larger baking sheet.

11. Spread the tomato sauce onto the crust the sprinkle with the toppings.

12. Bake until browned, which takes about 15 minutes.

13. Cut into wedges and serve.
