1. Turn the oven to 450 degrees and preheat.
2. Cut the Italian bread in half lengthwise, then crosswise to make 8 sections.
3. In a bowl, combine the pesto, ricotta, parmesan, salt and pepper.
4. Spread the mixture onto the sections of bread.
5. Top with the pepperoni and mozzarella.
6. Bake for 10 minutes or until the cheese melts.
7. Allow to cool for 5 minutes.
8. Serve with ranch dressing for dipping sauce.
