Portobello Pizzas with Italian Sausage and Mozzarella Cheese

 

 

Portobello mushroom caps inverted. Caps are filled with low-fat, marinara sauce, cooked and crumbled lean turkey Italian sausage, and shredded fat-free mozzarella cheese. Mushrooms are baked in preheated oven until cheese has melted. Garnished with chopped fresh basil or parsley and served hot.

Ingredients -

4 Portobello Mushroom Caps
1/2 cup Low-Fat Marinara Sauce
1/2 cup Lean Turkey Italian Sausage, cooked, drained and crumbled
4 tablespoons Shredded Fat Free Mozzarella Cheese
Fresh Basil or Parsley

 
Preparation:

1. Turn the oven to 350 F degrees and preheat.

2. Arrange the Portobello mushrooms on a baking sheet, bottom side up.

3. Fill them with marinara sauce and sausage and sprinkle the cheese on top.

4. Bake until the cheese melts, which takes 5 to 6 minutes.

5. Serve garnished with basil or parsley.
