Spicy Italian Sausage Pizza with Monterrey Jack and Parmesan

 

 

Pizza dough baked until light brown and set. Crust topped with marinara sauce, cooked and crumbled Italian sausage with Italian seasoning and thinly sliced onion, shredded Monterrey Jack cheese, and grated Parmesan cheese. Pizza returned to oven and baked until cheese is melted, about 10 minutes.

Ingredients -

3/4 pound Hot Italian Sausage, casing removed, crumbled
4 ounces Monterey Jack Cheese, Shredded
1/2 teaspoon Dried Italian Seasoning
3 tablespoons Parmesan Cheese, grated
1 cup Marinara Sauce
1 Onion, thinly sliced
1 (10 ounces) tube Refrigerated Pizza Crust Dough

 
Preparation:

1. Turn the oven to 425 degrees and preheat.

2. Spray a 15 x 10 pan with nonstick cooking spray.

3. Roll the dough into the prepared pan.

4. Bake the dough for 10 minutes or until light golden brown.

5. Add the sausage to a skillet and cook until no longer pink, which takes about 5 minutes.

6. Add the onion and Italian seasoning and stir well.

7. Cook an additional 2 minutes and remove the pan from the heat.

8. Spread the marinara evenly on top of the crust.

9. Transfer the sausage on top of the sauce.

10. Top with the shredded cheese.

11. Bake until the cheese melts, which takes about 10 minutes.

12. Allow to cool for 5 minutes then serve.
